Compact Training Course: Fundamentals of the ABP furnace system
- Location: Microsoft Teams / on-site training
- Date: upon request
- Duration: approx. 6 hours
This compact training course provides a practical basic understanding of the key technical systems of an ABP induction furnace. It is designed particularly for new employees and offers a concise overview of the most important fundamentals, interrelationships and maintenance aspects of the converter, mechanical and cooling water systems.
Participants will learn about the basic design and operating principles of the most important plant components, gain insight into typical fault patterns and their causes, and become familiar with fundamental inspection, maintenance and servicing procedures to perform their daily work safely and efficiently.

- Introduction to the basic functionalities and operating principles of semiconductors
- Metrological inspection of semiconductor elements, especially thyristors
- Control of the most common causes of failure for defective thyristors (circuitry, pulse transformers, water cooling)
- Proper replacement of thyristors
- Function and check of the starting device
Speaker: Jörg Lenze
Mechanics
- Physical basics for the operation of a coreless induction furnace
- ABP coil technology, special features and differences
